Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Record Keeping

  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).

2. Assisting in Financial Reporting

  • Help in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and meet the requirements of MFRS and other relevant guidelines.
  • Prepare supporting documents and schedules for audits and assist in ensuring audit readiness.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual expenditures against the budget and report any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather data needed for budgeting and forecasting.

4. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management

  • Process invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payment to suppliers.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure prompt payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of payments and receivables, and reconcile accounts when necessary.

5. Tax Compliance and Filing

  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure timely filing of required taxes, such as SST (Sales and Service Tax) and corporate income tax.
  • Ensure that tax documentation and records comply with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Help prepare and submit necessary documentation for tax audits and queries from the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).

6. Payroll Processing Support

  • Assist in preparing and processing payroll, ensuring accurate calculations of salaries, EPF (Employees Provident Fund), SOCSO (Social Security Organization), and EIS (Employment Insurance System) contributions.
  • Maintain records related to payroll expenses and provide support in payroll audits.

7. Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, guidelines, and standards, safeguarding the company’s assets.
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvement to increase efficiency and accuracy.

8. Support in Financial Analysis

  • Provide assistance in financial analysis, such as cost analysis and variance analysis.
  • Prepare reports that provide insights into financial performance to aid management in decision-making.

9. Inventory Management Support

  • Support inventory tracking and valuation to ensure accurate reporting on inventory levels and costs.
  • Reconcile inventory records with physical counts and investigate any discrepancies.

10. Communication and Coordination

  • Coordinate with various departments to gather financial data and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Support external auditors during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to queries.
  • Communicate with vendors, clients, and regulatory bodies when necessary.
  • Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank statements.
  • Assist in preparing and recording general ledger entries.
