JOB SUMMARY
This dedicated role supports hotels with restaurants and bars outlets to achieve significant results in their food and beverage operations. The Restaurants & Bars Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing and collaborates closely with the Director of Food and Beverage/Operations. Their primary goals are to drive revenue growth and establish the hotel's reputation for culinary excellence. The core responsibility is to develop and execute a comprehensive Restaurants & Bars marketing plan focused on attracting local diners and increasing market share within the local community. The manager will leverage a multi-channel approach, utilizing traditional media, digital platforms (including the hotel website and social media), and owned channels to showcase the unique offerings of each Restaurants & Bars outlet and the overall dining experience. The Restaurants & Bars R&B Marketing Manager fosters a collaborative environment. They hold regular brainstorming sessions with the Director of F&B and other stakeholders to develop innovative content creation ideas, explore paid media strategies, and brainstorm targeted offers and promotions for targeted channels to attract new guests and drive repeat business. Internally, they collaborate with stakeholders like the Director of Sales & Marketing, F&B Operations, Communications, MDS, Brand, Digital Marketing, Content, Partnerships, and Area Directors. This collaboration extends to external partners as well, building strong relationships with local media, corporate partners, social media influencers, and community leaders to attract local diners and elevate the hotel's Restaurants & Bars revenue and reputation. This role focuses on creating engaging content and developing compelling offers and promotions. The manager may also collaborate with Marriott Bonvoy Asia (if applicable) for consistency in marketing efforts. To maximize marketing effectiveness, the manager leverages partnerships with Marriott Digital Services (MDS) and partners like SevenRooms. This collaboration allows for the optimization of online booking systems and the utilization of data analytics to inform data-driven decisions.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
• 4-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major • At least 3-5 years of marketing experience, ideally at some point in a restaurant/bar led organization • Has genuine interest in F&B, lifestyle and nightlife • Strong network of connections is an asset, including media, bloggers, social influencers, and industry partners • Exemplary writing and editing skills • Proficiency in key digital competencies including SEO, Google Analytics, and social media channels • Proven track record in managing and executing multiple initiatives • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills • Driven, innovative and highly adaptable
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Strategy and Planning (including promotional calendar)
- Develops and implements cohesive and integrated marketing plans for the Restaurants & Bars outlets inclusive of positioning, promotional and events calendar, public relations, digital/e-commerce channels, and social media
- Manages the Restaurants & Bars marketing budget to achieve business and marketing goals
- Organizes and conducts monthly Restaurants & Bars Marketing Meeting attended by DOSM, Director of F&B, Outlet Managers, Chefs, Marketing Managers, and others
- Evaluates new marketing opportunities for the Restaurants & Bars outlets by keeping up to date with the local market restaurant and bar trends
Performance and Reporting
- Analyzes restaurants and bars statistical data and reports to identify revenue growth opportunities and track the impact of marketing efforts on revenue
- Provides regular tracking/ROI and analysis of promotions and website/email campaigns, using industry averages for ROI calculation, and uses this knowledge in future planning
- Tracks media coverage, social engagement, and customer sentiment online through monthly KPI reports that are shared with senior leadership of the hotel Demand
Generation and Campaigns
- Collaborates with internal teams like Marriott Digital Services to develop an end-to-end personalized digital experience to ensure our hotel is positioned as a prominent and easily accessible local Restaurants & Bars destination, visible and bookable across preferred channels
- Plans and executes Restaurants & Bars promotions, events, and initiatives in cooperation with the Director of F&B and Director of Sales & Marketing (or DOM) based on business requirements and seasonality
- Integrates PR and social media efforts into Restaurants & Bars marketing campaigns across all channels and to bolster the outlet’s local reputation and outlet image in the local community
- Supports area/regional Restaurants & Bars promotions if in line with Restaurants & Bars objectives and business needs
Channel Management
- Leverages the comprehensive capabilities of partner capabilities such as SevenRooms to maximize its impact on revenue and reputation, to unlock maximum guest engagement, fostering deeper connections and personalized experiences at scale
- Manages the online reputation of the outlets through the active engagement and management of guest reviews and enquiries on 3rd party site
- Solicits new media outlets in line with Restaurants & Bars strategy to extend outlet promotions through targeted e-channels and third-party sites
- Drives Restaurants & Bars CRM strategy for direct email marketing in accordance with company policies and GDPR requirements
- Maintains, updates, and manages all Restaurants & Bars related aspects on all digital and offline channels (including owned websites, social media accounts, internal communications, in-house signage, etc.)
- Develops and executes outlet social media calendars in cooperation with the outlet manager and/or Director of F&B
- Spends a certain amount of time within the outlets, engaging with local guests to effectively build networks and to capture social media content in collaboration with the F&B / operations team
Brand Management and Content
- Ensures consistency in individual outlet’s voice on all consumer touch points and marketing communications
- Organizes and manages Restaurants & Bars and lifestyle orientated photography and video shoots in support of the outlet positioning and marketing plan; maintains robust asset library
PR and Events
- Leverages media and influencers in line with marketing strategies and in line with the target customer profile
- Conducts site inspections with visiting journalists / influencers and entertain as appropriate to drive Restaurants & Bars messaging
- Organizes media events, Chef’s Tables etc. to launch and / or promote the outlets and new promotions as appropriate
- Tracks and prepares F&B Award Submissions as applicable
- Supports the activation of F&B related Marriott Bonvoy Moments and other relevant loyalty initiatives as applicable
- Supports Club Marriott or local loyalty program marketing activities as applicable Vendors/Partners
- Works collaboratively with local, regional, and national partners/vendors to build awareness, increase exposure and demand generation for the hotel’s restaurants
