Job Purpose:
The Finance Manager will oversee the company's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the full set of financial accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strategic thinking, strong financial acumen, and the ability to lead and manage a team of finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and other key reports) in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions and reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of accounts, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Full Set of Accounts:
- Manage and oversee the full accounting cycle, from journal entries to final reports.
- Ensure that all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner in the general ledger.
- Supervise the preparation of tax filings, financial statements, and other relevant reports in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Financial Analysis & Planning:
- Provide financial analysis, forecasts, and budgeting reports to the management team, helping drive informed business decisions.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing insights into financial performance, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and ensure appropriate financial controls are in place.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance, providing coaching and support for their professional growth.
- Review and supervise the work of junior finance staff to ensure high-quality performance.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks within the organization.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting, accounting practices, and operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices in accounting and financial reporting systems, tools, and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or similar professional certification preferred).
- At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including full responsibility for the full set of accounts.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with financial reporting and budgeting processes.
- Excellent proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
