(French Speaking) Trading Executive

Job Overview:

Guan Chong Cocoa Manufacturer Sdn Bhd is Asia’s largest cocoa processing company that is based in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. We are looking for a dedicated Trading Executive to join our team and support our operations between the headquarters and our factory in Ivory Coast.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison between HQ and the Ivory Coast factory, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
• Handle daily operations related to bean procurement, including identify suitable and reliable supplier and managing supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with various departments such as Warehouse, Accounts, Finance, and Quality to ensure smooth operations and adherence to standards.
• Monitor and oversee supply chain activities to ensure timely deliveries and maintain inventory levels.
• Prepare reports, track shipments, and analyze market trends to support decision-making processes.
• Communicate effectively with local suppliers and stakeholders in French to maintain strong professional relationships.
• Be available to travel to Ivory Coast if required for on-site coordination or supplier engagements.

Structure:

This position is structured as an hourly, full-time position (min 40 hours per week) reporting to Joyce Hia, Trading Manager. The position will be based in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. The position will take place as soon as possible.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate or undergraduate in Financial, Mathematic, Actuarial, Accounting, Finance, Art & Science and business major.
• Preferable fresh graduate or with working knowledge less than 2 years on topics related to commodity trading, banking and financing, commodity product manufacturing and/or sustainability
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, SAP
• Strong communication skills, and ability to present findings in a thoughtful and concise manner
• Ability to work and think entrepreneurially and independently with strong time and information management skills
• Detailed oriented and able to follow up on tasks for traders
• Might required to travel overseas for business when necessary
• Proficiency in French at DELF B2 level or higher (spoken and written) is required
