About the Role: As a Sales & Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for expanding business by nurturing client relationships in Malaysia and Indonesia. You should be self-driven, capable of identifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence, maintaining strong client relationships, and managing the entire sales and marketing cycle. Experience with maritime solutions and a deep understanding of the maritime industry are essential, along with a network of executive profiles in the chartering, management, and ship-owning offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales efforts in the assigned regions.
  • Develop assigned markets.
  • Generate sales leads.
  • Provide weekly and monthly sales updates to management.
  • Manage customer relations, feedback, and complaints.
  • Stay updated on market requirements and user needs.
  • Drive sales activities for existing and new channels.
  • Participate in trade shows, advertisements, and marketing communications.
  • Prepare reports covering CRM, sales pipeline, activities, performance, and plans.
  • Handle bid management.
  • Collaborate with the Group sales network to expand the commercial pipeline.

Requirements:

  • Technical or commercial background.
  • Strong commercial understanding and business acumen.
  • Proven sales track record in the maritime industry (minimum 5 years’ experience).
  • Experience in selling to shipowners and charterers, B2B.
  • Experience in direct sales, marine sales.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Ability to close deals (Hunter type).
  • Experience with selling hardware or software solutions is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the shipping and offshore sectors.
  • Experience with energy optimization in maritime business is an advantage.
  • Experience with marketing and producing marketing materials is an advantage.
  • Previous experience as a mariner is an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary education with a recognized degree qualification preferred.
  • Dedicated and ambitious.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Can-do attitude and strong execution skills.
