About the Role: As a Sales & Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for expanding business by nurturing client relationships in Malaysia and Indonesia. You should be self-driven, capable of identifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence, maintaining strong client relationships, and managing the entire sales and marketing cycle. Experience with maritime solutions and a deep understanding of the maritime industry are essential, along with a network of executive profiles in the chartering, management, and ship-owning offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead sales efforts in the assigned regions.
- Develop assigned markets.
- Generate sales leads.
- Provide weekly and monthly sales updates to management.
- Manage customer relations, feedback, and complaints.
- Stay updated on market requirements and user needs.
- Drive sales activities for existing and new channels.
- Participate in trade shows, advertisements, and marketing communications.
- Prepare reports covering CRM, sales pipeline, activities, performance, and plans.
- Handle bid management.
- Collaborate with the Group sales network to expand the commercial pipeline.
Requirements:
- Technical or commercial background.
- Strong commercial understanding and business acumen.
- Proven sales track record in the maritime industry (minimum 5 years’ experience).
- Experience in selling to shipowners and charterers, B2B.
- Experience in direct sales, marine sales.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Ability to close deals (Hunter type).
- Experience with selling hardware or software solutions is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the shipping and offshore sectors.
- Experience with energy optimization in maritime business is an advantage.
- Experience with marketing and producing marketing materials is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a mariner is an advantage.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary education with a recognized degree qualification preferred.
- Dedicated and ambitious.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Can-do attitude and strong execution skills.
