Junior Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and project budgets.
• Support tendering and bidding processes.

Measurement and Valuation:

• Measure and value works completed on-site, including variations.
• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.

Contract Administration:

• Assist in managing contracts, including preparing and issuing interim payment applications and final accounts.
• Support the Senior QS in resolving disputes and managing variations and claims.

Procurement:

• Assist in sourcing and procuring materials and subcontractors.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and compliance.

Project Monitoring and Reporting:

• Track project costs and provide regular financial updates to the team.
• Prepare reports on budget performance and forecasts.

Site Coordination:

• Work closely with site managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project objectives.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assess costs.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure all financial and contractual documentation complies with company standards and relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, QS software like CostX or Buildsoft).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials is an advantage.
• Entry-level experience or internship in quantity surveying is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
