Job Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision and Training:
- Assist in recruiting, training, and managing restaurant staff (servers, kitchen staff, etc.).
- Assign daily tasks to staff members and ensure proper performance.
- Foster a positive work environment to enhance teamwork and employee morale.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure all guests receive outstanding service and handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Oversee the dining experience to ensure customer satisfaction, from greeting guests to handling special requests.
- Operational Support:
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure that the restaurant is well-stocked with necessary supplies, such as food, beverages, and cleaning materials.
- Ensure all areas of the restaurant are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Inventory and Financial Management:
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
- Help with the implementation of inventory control procedures to prevent waste and theft.
- Assist in budgeting and managing costs, including food and labor costs.
- Help manage cash handling and daily revenue reports.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain open communication with the restaurant manager and staff, ensuring alignment on goals and operational standards.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with scheduling shifts and ensuring adequate staffing during peak hours.
- Marketing and Promotions:
- Help implement marketing strategies to promote the restaurant, such as special offers or seasonal promotions.
- Assist in handling reservations and ensuring the restaurant can accommodate guests during peak times.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety codes.
- Prepare daily or weekly reports on restaurant performance for the restaurant manager or owners.
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a food service or restaurant environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of restaurant software, POS systems, and inventory management.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
