BUSINESS ANALYST – BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST AND MAPPING

Location: Cyberjaya/Putrajaya, Malaysia

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team and support a leading global banking institution specializing in securities, asset servicing, and custodial services. This role focuses on assessing and documenting business processes, mapping out end-to-end workflows, and identifying opportunities for the Malaysian support team to handle incidents effectively. The ultimate goal is to enhance operational efficiency, increase business opportunities, and provide seamless support to European and American hubs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Assessment and Documentation

  • Analyse, document, and map end-to-end business processes within the bank’s IT and operational framework.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive process maps using industry-standard tools and methodologies to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Maintain an up-to-date repository of process documentation for future reference and compliance purposes.

Incident Management Identification

  • Assess the current incident management framework and identify the TOP 10 incidents for each Business Line/Application that can be efficiently handled by the Malaysian support team.
  • Develop criteria for incident categorization and escalation to align with global standards.
  • Create a detailed list of incidents, including resolution steps, to be transitioned to the Malaysian team.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and readiness for incident management.

Business Opportunity Enhancement

  • Identify new business opportunities by analysing gaps in current processes and support capabilities.
  • Provide recommendations for improving service delivery and increasing the scope of services managed by the Malaysian support team.
  • Propose solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining high service quality.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with IT teams, operations, and business units to gather requirements and align processes with strategic goals.
  • Act as a liaison between the Malaysian support team and global hubs to ensure consistent communication and understanding.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Training and Knowledge Transfer

  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops for the Malaysian support team to ensure they are equipped to handle identified incidents.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions with global teams to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training and provide continuous support to the team.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all process documentation and incident management practices comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Identify potential risks in process transitions and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to global standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven track record of process mapping and incident management.
  • Familiarity with securities, asset servicing, and custody operations is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in process mapping tools such as Visio or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of incident management frameworks and IT service management (ITSM) tools like ServiceNow or JIRA.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong presentation skills to deliver findings and recommendations effectively.

Certifications

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
  • ITIL Certification for Incident Management.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
