Job description As the Engineering Department Head, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department’s day-to-day operations, driving the strategic direction of the engineering team, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, manage departmental resources, and collaborate closely with senior management to align engineering goals with company objectives. Your leadership and technical expertise will play a critical role in the continued growth and success of the company. Key Responsibilities: -Lead, manage, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. -Define and implement the engineering department’s strategic goals and objectives. -Oversee the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. -Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, and other departments, to ensure alignment and effective collaboration. -Ensure engineering projects adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines. -Establish and maintain engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices to drive operational excellence. -Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and personnel development to meet company goals. -Conduct performance reviews, mentor staff, and provide guidance on professional development and career growth. -Monitor and report on project progress, resolve any technical challenges, and mitigate risks to ensure project success. -Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance the capabilities of the engineering team and improve productivity. -Serve as a key point of contact for senior leadership regarding engineering progress, challenges, and opportunities. Qualification: -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field); Master’s degree is a plus. -Proven experience in an engineering leadership role, with a track record of managing teams and successful project delivery. -Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and industry-specific technologies. -Experience with budgeting, resource management, and departmental operations. -Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams. -Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. -Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. -Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
