Global Debt Markets Derivatives Trade Processing Management is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in Rates trading life cycle management. Our global team of Middle Office professionals partner with the business to provide accurate, efficient, timely and controlled trade validation, ensuring seamless downstream processing. We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a subject matter expert (SME).

The Opportunity:

What you’ll do:

  • Provide Trade Validation checks for Credit & Interest Rates Derivative products to ensure all financial information on an agreed term sheet is booked accordingly into our trading system.
  • Provide Trade Reconciliation Investigation service for Credit & Interest Rates Derivative products to ensure all trades booked into our trading system matches with external vendor systems’ data and/or our downstream systems’ data for settlements and confirmation.
  • Raise trade booking discrepancies to front office and ensure outstanding queries are chased and closed in timely fashion.
  • Communicate and coordinate timely and effectively with front office sales and traders and other operation teams to resolve trade discrepancies.
  • Responsible to update reports accurately and timely distribute them at end of day.
  • Investigate and prioritise aging / high risk items. Escalate of all problems/risk issues within their area to the respective stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • A minimum of a BA/BS/BC degree.
  • Strong culture of ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to speak and understand English fluently with exceptional business communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills as well as a strong eye for detail are required.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast pace and high pressure environment against tight timelines.
  • Working knowledge in trade reconciliation and investigation.
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Tool especially on Excel, Word & Outlook. Knowledge in Excel Vlookup and pivot table rules/setup is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in London time zone work hours and Malaysian public holidays.
  • Ability to learn quickly with good numerical and analytical skills with the ability to understand, analyze and communicate data in a concise, logical and visually stimulating form.

What additional skills will be good to have:

  • Previous experience in Middle Office, Confirmations or Settlements roles will be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, procedures and controls as well as of front to back trade lifecycle
  • Technical / IT understanding of how trading and order management systems operate is desirable.
  • Knowledge on trading system i.e. Global Calypso, XFOS is an added advantage.
