Retail and wholesale trade managers, plan, organize, coordinate and control the operations of establishments that sell goods on a retail or wholesale basis. They are responsible for operational direction of shops, or of organizational units within shops that sell particular types of product.
- Serves customers by helping them to select products.
- Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
- Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.
- Responds to customers’ questions.
- Directs customers by escorting them to racks and counters.
- Provides outstanding customer service.
- Documents sales by creating or updating customer profile records.
- Manages financial transactions.
- Processes payments by totaling purchases, processing checks, cash, and store or other credit and debit cards.
- Alerts management of potential security issues.
- Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
- Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest.
- Determining product mix, stock levels and service standards;
- Formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies, and setting prices;
- Promoting and advertising the establishment’s goods and services;
- Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions;
- Undertaking budgeting for the establishment;
- Controlling selection, training and supervision of staff;
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Candidate must posses at least a Professional Certificate, Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma, Degree, Advanced Degree.
- Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia, optionally Mandarin.
