Duties & Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Senior Barista / Barista is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality coffee and beverages. This role includes overseeing junior baristas, maintaining the café’s standards, and contributing to a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coffee Preparation: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso beverages while adhering to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
2. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
3. Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior baristas on coffee preparation techniques, equipment operation, and customer service best practices.
4. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of coffee and beverages, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
5. Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area.
6. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean coffee equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
7. Sales and Promotions: Promote new menu items and upsell products to enhance customer experience and drive sales.
8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Job RequirementsQualifications: 1. Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience as a barista, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior role. 2. Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, brewing methods, and equipment. Excellent customer service and communication skills. 3. High school diploma or equivalent; barista training or certification is a plus. 4. Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. 5. Leadership: Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
