Position Summary

  • The main objective of this role is to develop and execute relevant strategies to capture and grow the MICE segment and enhance Malaysia Airline's and Firefly presence in MICE market segment.
  • This role involves close collaboration with sales team worldwide, revenue management, marketing, and operations teams to create tailored offerings that meet the unique needs of MICE segments, ensuring exceptional service delivery and maximizing revenue opportunities.

Key Accountability

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends and opportunities within the MICE segment. Develop and implement strategic plans to capture and expand the airline's market share in the MICE segment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Tourism, Bureau, MICE organizers, corporate clients, travel agencies to promote the airline's services. Design and execute sales initiatives and promotional campaigns targeted at the MICE market.
  • Collaborate with internal sales teams to design MICE-specific products and services, including but not limited to corporate incentive and customized on-board experiences.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure the highest standards of service are provided to MICE clients, from initial inquiry (RFI) through post-event follow-up. Address any issues or challenges swiftly to maintain client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Work closely with sales team worldwide, revenue management, operations, customer service, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of MICE offerings. Facilitate effective communication across departments to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Monitor performance against sales targets and budgets, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve financial objectives.
  • Develop pricing strategies for MICE offerings to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
  • Provide regular reports on MICE segment performance, including sales result, post event report and customer feedback. Use data to inform future strategies and improve service offerings
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends and competitor activities, providing regular feedback and insights to senior management.
  • Prepare and present sales reports to senior management, including analysis of sales data and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Working Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a MICE-related role, preferably within the airline or travel industry

  • Strong understanding of the MICE market and the ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a proven track record of securing and growing business accounts.
