Role Purpose

The tech crew rostering plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the technical crew is available, qualified, and scheduled in an efficient and compliant manner, all while supporting the safe and timely operation of aircraft. Their efforts in tech crew roster assignment and adjustment to ensure equal distribution and in compliance with the regulatory and business requirement without disrupting flight schedules.

Key Accountability

  • Create and manage schedules for technical crew, ensuring optimal coverage and compliance with industry regulations. Ensure that all technical crew members maintain necessary certifications and complete required training, including assignment to relevant training rosters.
  • Review and validate flight assignments for pilots during crew roster adjustments to ensure compliance with Flight Time Limitation (FTL) requirements and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that flying hours are evenly distributed among pilots, promoting fairness, reducing fatigue, and adhering to regulatory limits such as flight hour restrictions and mandatory rest periods, while adjusting rosters to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure that all booking requirements for hotel accommodation and transportation (positioning seats) for technical crew attending training are fulfilled efficiently and in compliance with company policies.
  • Approve or reject leave applications for technical crew based on available staffing slots, ensuring operational efficiency and that sufficient crew members are available for flight duties without disruptions.
  • Ensure that all crew activities, including rosters, assignments, and leave management, comply with aviation industry regulations to maintain safety and operational integrity.

Qualifications & Working Experience

  • Diploma in any discipline with 0-1 years of working experience, preferably in operations areas, or,
  • Knowledge in flight operations regulations, policies and procedures, crew planning and scheduling.
  • High School Certificate (STPM/SPM) with 2-3 years of working experience, preferable in operations areas.

Personality Traits / Skill and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of crew operations - Applicable regulatory requirement and Flight operations policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of crew operating pattern, duty roster and company operating plan.
  • Knowledge of Crew Management System is advantageous.
  • Must be meticulous to details and process driven.
  • Excellent verbal communication, and the ability to convey important information clearly and effectively.
  • Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management, responsible, goal oriented and organised.
  • Confident, proactive, and willing to take on workplace challenges.
  • Great listening skills and able to take direction from individuals in higher-level positions.
