A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support the Finance team during the migration of our accounting systems. The individual will work closely with the finance teams to transfer accounting data, ensure the integrity of financial information, and support system testing and validation. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-impact project, develop a deeper understanding of accounting software and data management processes, and contribute to the successful implementation of our new accounting system.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY
Data Validation and Migration Support:
- Assist in the migration of financial data from legacy systems to the new
- accounting platform, ensuring data accuracy and completeness throughout
- the process.
System Testing:
- Participate in testing the new accounting system by running test scenarios,
- identifying discrepancies, and providing feedback to the IT and finance teams
- for resolution.
Data Entry and Reconciliation:
- Support the finance team in verifying and reconciling financial data to ensure
- that all transactions and records are correctly transferred and aligned with the
- new system.
Documentation:
- Help document migration processes, steps taken, and any issues or
- challenges encountered to provide a clear record of activities and decisions
- made during the migration.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, and external vendors)
- to ensure smooth coordination
Requirements
- Current student or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English
