Safety Supervisor
KEY RESULT AREA: 1. SAFETY PROTOCOLS: IMPLEMENT SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO ENSURE A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT. 2. INCIDENT REPORTING: MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS OF ALL SAFETY INCIDENTS, NEAR-MISSES, AND SAFETY-RELATED TRAINING. 3. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: FOLLOW UP ON SAFETY AUDIT FINDINGS AND INCIDENT REPORTS TO IMPLEMENT CORRECTIVE ACTIONS PROMPTLY. 4. RISK ASSESSMENT: CONDUCT REGULAR RISK ASSESSMENTS TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL HAZARDS AND DEVELOP STRATEGIES TO MITIGATE THEM. 5. EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT: PROMOTE A SAFETY-FIRST CULTURE BY ENCOURAGING EMPLOYEES TO REPORT HAZARDS AND PARTICIPATE IN SAFETY PROGRAMS. 6. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS: ENSURE THAT EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANS ARE UP-TO-DATE AND THAT EMPLOYEES ARE TRAINED IN EMERGENCY PROCEDURES. 7. SAFETY INSPECTIONS: PERFORM ROUTINE SAFETY INSPECTIONS AND AUDITS TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL HAZARDS AND ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH SAFETY STANDARDS. KEY FUNCTIONS: 1. CONDUCT REGULAR INSPECTIONS AND AUDITS TO IDENTIFY HAZARDS AND ASSESS RISKS IN THE WORKPLACE. 2. COLLABORATE WITH MANAGEMENT AND DEPARTMENT HEADS TO ESTABLISH SAFETY GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. 3. PROVIDE TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO EMPLOYEES ON SAFETY POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND REGULATIONS. 4. INVESTIGATE ACCIDENTS, INCIDENTS, AND NEAR MISSES TO DETERMINE ROOT CAUSES AND IMPLEMENT CORRECTIVE ACTIONS. 5. CONDUCT REGULAR AUDITS AND INSPECTIONS TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL HAZARDS AND ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 6.COLLABORATE WITH DEPARTMENT MANAGERS TO DEVELOP SAFETY GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. 7.PROVIDE SAFETY TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR EMPLOYEES AT ALL LEVELS. 8. INVESTIGATE INCIDENTS, ACCIDENTS, AND NEAR MISSES, AND IMPLEMENT CORRECTIVE ACTIONS AS NEEDED. 9. MAINTAIN RECORDS AND PREPARE REPORTS ON SAFETY PERFORMANCE AND COMPLIANCE. 10. CONDUCT REGULAR INSPECTIONS AND AUDITS OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE TO IDENTIFY HAZARDS AND POTENTIAL RISKS. 11. COLLABORATE WITH SITE MANAGEMENT AND SUBCONTRACTORS TO ADDRESS SAFETY CONCERNS AND DEVELOP MITIGATION STRATEGIES. 12. PROVIDE SAFETY TRAINING AND ORIENTATIONS FOR ALL PERSONNEL ON-SITE, INCLUDING NEW HIRES AND SUBCONTRACTORS. 13. INVESTIGATE ACCIDENTS, INCIDENTS, AND NEAR MISSES, AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECTIVE ACTIONS TO PREVENT RECURRENCE. 14. MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS AND DOCUMENTATION RELATED TO SAFETY ACTIVITIES, INSPECTIONS, AND TRAINING SESSIONS. 15. MONITOR AND ENFORCE THE PROPER USE OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) AND SAFETY GEAR. 16. TO COMPLY ALL SAFETY REQUIREMENT SET BY COMPANY
- BSc/BA in safety management, engineering or relevant field is preferred
- Must have yellow book or any certs related to safety
- Proven experience as safety officer (1-2 years)
- Can speak in English & Bahasa Malaysia
- In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA) and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
- Certificate in occupational health and safety
