Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and verify the quantity and quality of goods delivered to the store. Store merchandise in designated areas and ensure proper labeling. Track stock levels and reorder products as necessary to maintain optimal inventory levels. Perform regular stock audits to check for discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of records. Stock Organization: Maintain a well-organized and tidy storage area, ensuring easy access to products. Ensure products are stored in a way that prevents damage and spoilage (especially for perishable items). Properly arrange stock on shelves, ensuring that older stock is moved to the front for easy access. Customer Service Support: Assist store staff in locating merchandise when requested. Support the sales team by replenishing stock on the sales floor. Assist with product displays and ensure items are correctly priced. Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of stock received, stocked, and sold. Prepare and submit stock reports to the Store Manager regularly. Update inventory software or manual logs as needed. Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with store policies and safety standards, especially related to stock handling and storage. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the store, including stockrooms and shelves. Ensure that all hazardous or fragile items are handled in compliance with safety guidelines. Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with the Store Manager and other team members to support store operations. Assist with training new employees on store procedures and inventory systems.
