Role Purpose
Lead and manage all aspects of corporate finance:
Take the lead in managing debt and equity raising activities (ie. M&A related) to ensure the Group's capital structure framework is adhered to - stress test business plan assumptions, evaluate joint-venture governance structures and play active role in supporting fleet management activities & manage equity stake holders and work with Finance Business Partners in evaluating new investments, acting on potential opportunities, negotiating deals, & leading pitches.

Key Accountability
Strategy:
(1) To undertake financial feasibility/business valuation assessment and assist in the execution of all Group M&A-related activities (acquisitions, equity investments, JVs, strategic alliances, divestitures etc), including post-investment integration.
(2) Strategically offers advice to management and shareholder teams on a large set of financial matters such as acquisition initiatives, potential opportunities, and financial due diligence.
(3) Establish, defines and prepares GEXCO and Board papers to seek approval on appropriate capital structures for business arrangements while keeping in mind the business needs, risk management taxation, accounting, and legal/policy requirements.
(4) Track airline developments in Malaysia, the region and around the world for financial ratios benchmarking."
Support/Collaboration:
(1) Highly committed to support the Group’s Investment Committee Secretariat in stress-testing business units’ project cost-benefit analyses to ensure the relevant project’s financial targets are aligned with that under the Group’s Capital Allocation and Financial Framework (“CAF”);
(2) Lead to coordinate in refining and preparing the report/dashboard to track the progress of all investments/capital spending including JVs to ensure targets under the Group’s CAF are met, for circulation to GEXCO and Board Audit Committee quarterly.
(3) Establish and coordinate efficient communications channels and maintain a close working relationship with customers, support personnel, and external parties."
Relationships:
(1) Lead negotiations with financial advisors, legal advisors, external auditors, shareholders as well as potential investors in respect of all M&A related transactions including arranging with lenders back-stop financing as necessary;
(2) Work closely with Group Finance, Group Legal and relevant key stakeholders to continously refine the Group's Capital Allocation and Financial Framework including identification of new investment opportunities for the business.
Staff Training & Development:
(1) Promotes and develops a continuous technical learnings within the department to ensure sustainability of talent in corporate finance matters especially in cashflow modelling and valuation tools.
(2) Plans staff training to ensure well-balanced resources management.
(3) Plays an active role in the recruitment and training of new team members to ensure continued departmental effectiveness."
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree or Master's Degree in Business Studies / Administration / Management, Economics, Finance / Accountancy / Banking or equivalent with 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
