Shipping Officer

DESIGNATION : SHIPPING OFFICER DEPARTMENT : PLANNING REPORTING TO : SENIOR EXECUTIVE SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITY : 1. Import Duties Ensure all shipping documents are accurately prepared and in order for importation. Manage exemption applications for import duty and Sales and Service Tax (SST). Verify compliance with customs regulations and requirements for all incoming shipments. 2. Export Duties Arrange vessel bookings for outgoing shipments. Prepare and forward export shipping documents to freight agents. Compile and prepare supporting documents, including Certificates of Origin (COO), for exportation. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations for exports. 3. Shipment Tracking Monitor and follow up on the status of all import and export shipments to ensure timely delivery. Communicate with internal teams and external partners to provide updates and resolve any shipping-related issues. Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including documentation and correspondence 4. Courier and Document Management: Arrange courier services for the timely dispatch of parcels . Track and monitor the status of courier shipments, providing updates to relevant department. Coordinate with courier service providers to resolve any issues or delays in shipment. 5. Stock Management: Update stock balances for raw materials and components, ensuring accurate records based on exemptions provided by MIDA Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure compliance with MIDA regulations and internal policies 6. Insurance Procurement: Purchase insurance for export shipments to mitigate risks base on shipment terms and ensure compliance with regulations. 7.Customs Exemptions: Apply for sub-contract exemptions from Royal Customs. Prepare and submit applications for exemptions related to third-party purchases. 8. Any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.
