This role will manage the bp Trading & Shipping (T&S) Finance I&E SAP Support Organisation. Our SAP service forms the backbone of all of our Global cross-commodity settlement and accounting activities.
As a Senior Enterprise Technology Engineer you are a technology service expert providing bp with capabilities in the definition, and operation of critical IT services. The role uses knowledge of both traditional concepts and site/software reliability principles and operational support techniques.
Our Senior Enterprise Technology Engineers hold management roles over the delivery of services from internal squads or external providers to ensure business performance in line with agreed, SLOs, IT outcomes and levels of risk and resilience. You ensure operational integrity and operational compliance with appropriate regulatory and internal standards. You are familiar with DevOps based models as well as traditional outcome based services, and are skilled in working with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve customer struggles, inefficiencies, and blockers to delivery velocity. You are a skilled vendor manager, able to ensure the success of traditional outsourced service contracts, and to drive continuous improvements in service quality and customer experience.

Key Accountabilities

Support Finance Tech Lead and Product Manager with project planning and prioritization activities (testing, operations, and ongoing improvements to digital products and services)
Ensure on operational integrity, assuring operational compliance with architectural and security standards, as well as compliance and policy controls refined by Strategy, Digital Security or other relevant Regulatory, Legal and Compliance functions.
Work with geographically diverse business groups and support teams to deliver solutions effectively and efficiently, following the change management procedures for smooth and timely delivery of solutions.
Own incident management, both for major and regular problems. Manage third party development teams to resolution within the SLA. Follow up on Root Cause Analysis and drive it to completeness and sign off. Lead teams to develop solutions avoiding the recurrence.
Confident decision making, act with delegation of authority when required. Sign off authority on incident resolution, RCA documents and vendor capacity planning
Allocate tasks to vendor teams. Handle, plan, review and influence resource capacity.
Strong collaborator management, develop excellent business relationship with partners, become the single PoC for SAP operational issues.
Confidently and independently make decisions when and as required, drive decision makings toward common goals while being responsible for outcomes.
Crucial role in driving a smooth transition when new SAP projects are being implemented
Identify common issues across business groups and help design a standardized solution for all. Proactively identify risks, suggest fixes for defects and support timely resolution of critical production issues.
Job requirements:
5+ years experience in IT industry with experience in designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and documenting solutions.
Experience in the application of modern Service Delivery methods - Site Reliability Engineering to traditional ITIL, and understanding of Product Based delivery
Consistent track record of end-to-end project lifecycle including requirement analysis, testing, deployment, and production support.
Experience with Change Management and Release Management
Experience with large-scale enterprise-wide IT environments containing multiple technologies, servers, and logical environment.
Consistent record of end-to-end project lifecycle including requirement analysis, testing, deployment, and production support.
Experience in strategic planning and portfolio prioritization / management to ensure compatibility with current systems, assessing cost implications and operational impacts.
Major Incident Management and Resolution in SAP T&S. Experience in leading and providing effective incident resolution, business communication, restoring services safely and securely in the shortest possible recovery time.
Working in a partially managed service environment and/or supervising 3rd party service delivery
Project Management experience delivering IT led projects
Broad experience contributing and collaborating to assist design, plan, implement, maintain, and document services and solutions
Incident Management experience
Expertise in SAP ECC and BW: Knowledge and expertise in SAP ECC (ERP Central Component) and BW (Business Warehouse).
