DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Purpose of Role: The Database Geologist is responsible for managing and maintaining geological databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility. This role involves integrating various types of geological data, performing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks, and providing data outputs for decision-making. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and manage geological databases, including drilling, sampling, assay, mapping, and grade control data. • Perform QA/QC checks and verification on data and databases. • Generate and validate three-dimensional models of geology, alteration, and mineralization. • Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and managers to provide data in useful formats. • Update the database with new data and supervise database technicians. • Ensure effective and efficient management of the geological database. • Maintain workflow schedules and follow all company procedures and protocols. • Build positive relationships with team members, landowners, and the general public. Qualifications & Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field. • 2-5 years of experience in a mining or geological setting. • Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL). • Familiarity with geological modeling software. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment screenings. Preferred Skills: • Experience with GIS databases and geospatial data. • Knowledge of modern data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI). • Understanding of health and safety guidelines in a mining environment.
