We are currently seeking for a Finance Controller whom will lead and oversee the financial operations of the company, managing key functions such as purchasing, payroll, and accounting. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing financial strategies, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and driving financial performance across all 3 departments.
The Finance Controller will oversee the Finance & Accounts, Payroll & Purchasing team and collaborate with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies, optimize financial performance, and ensure the company's financial operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with overall business goals. He/She will drive key financial decisions, manage budgets, forecasting, and reporting, and work closely with General Manager & Director to guide the company’s long-term financial strategy.
1. Key responsibilities include overseeing financial planning, reporting, and analysis, managing cash flow, implementing cost control strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and advising on key business decisions. The Head of Finance will also play a critical role in risk management, helping the organization navigate market fluctuations, economic changes, and industry trends.
2. Develop and implement financial strategies that support company growth and efficiency.
3. Lead and mentor the teams across purchasing, payroll, and accounting departments to ensure high performance and alignment with organizational goals.
4. Collaborate with senior management to define and execute the company’s financial objectives and goals.
5. Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports such as P&L, CapEx, financial health report, Tax compliance, budgets, cash flow statement etc to senior leadership, stakeholders, and board members.
6. Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing processes.
7. Ensure accurate preparation and filing of financial statements in accordance with company policies & regulations
8. Manage internal controls, audits, and financial compliance requirements.
9. Direct the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts to track financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
10. Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
11. Provide detailed financial analysis to help identify trends, risks, and opportunities for the business.
12. Support financial forecasting and cash flow management to ensure liquidity and financial health.
13. Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
14. Implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks and protect company assets.
15. Ensure the accuracy and transparency of all financial transactions and reporting.
16. Oversee the PPSC function to ensure that all procurement & purchasing processes are financially sound, cost-effective, and compliant with company policies.
17. Work closely with the PPSC team to monitor and optimize spending and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and vendors.
18. Implement financial controls and policies to safeguard company assets during procurement activities.
19. Ensure that purchasing decisions align with budgetary constraints and overall financial objectives.
20. Supervise the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, benefits, and taxes.
21. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and labor laws.
22. Work with HR and other departments to manage payroll budgets, compensation strategies, and benefits planning.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally in financial management, auditing, or accounting. Previous experience in a similar role, particularly within an SME environment, is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, statutory requirements, and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., AutoCount, MYOB, Xero) and ERP systems.
- Analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to manage financial risks.
- Ethical, with strong integrity and confidentiality in handling financial matters.
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in usage of softwares (accounting/payroll/purchasing ERP)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
