Job Summary

The Site Technician is responsible for the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Electrical Switchboard at various project sites. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical switchboards, busbar & components, and safety standards to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of electrical power distribution systems

Key Responsibilities for Site Technician (Electrical):

  • Perform On-Site Maintenance: Carry out routine and corrective maintenance of electrical systems, panels, switchboards, and equipment.
  • Install Electrical Systems: Perform installation and wiring of electrical components, including switches, breakers, and all related components.
  • Troubleshoot Electrical Issues: Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, including equipment malfunctions and system failures.
  • Conduct Routine Inspections: Perform inspections to identify potential issues in wiring, connections, or equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Test Electrical Systems: Use testing tools and equipment to verify system functionality, continuity, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Support Equipment Commissioning: Assist in the commissioning of electrical equipment and systems on-site, ensuring they are operational and meet performance standards.
  • Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow strict safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
  • Interpret Technical Drawings: Read and work from electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to execute tasks accurately.
  • Collaborate with Team: Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain Records: Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs performed on-site.
  • Provide Client Support: Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to address concerns and provide updates on project progress.
  • Stay Updated: Participate in training sessions to stay informed about new tools, equipment, and industry practices.
  • Handle Emergency Repairs: Respond to electrical emergencies promptly to minimize downtime and ensure system safety.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering
  • Have working experiences in electrical fields minimum 2 years
  • Have experiences in LV and MV switchgear will be an advantage.
  • Familiar with site work will be an advantage.
  • Able to read single & three phase schematic diagram will be an advantage.
  • Willing to work outstation
  • Have basic knowledge on Microsoft software.
