Key Responsibilities:

As a Regulatory Affairs Intern, you will assist in various tasks related to maintaining and ensuring compliance with food safety standards, industry regulations, and certifications. Your responsibilities will include:

  • HACCP Compliance Support:
  • Assist in ensuring that Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans are up to date and in line with industry best practices.
  • Support the team in monitoring food safety processes across different stages of production.
  • Help in the documentation and tracking of HACCP records and corrective actions.
  • ISO Standards Maintenance:
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001 for quality management systems) within the organization.
  • Aid in preparing for ISO audits and reviews, ensuring necessary documentation and records are in order.
  • Support the team in the preparation and implementation of procedures that align with ISO requirements.
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Compliance:
  • Help in monitoring and ensuring GMP guidelines are being followed in all stages of production.
  • Assist in internal audits to verify compliance with GMP and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support in the training and awareness of GMP among staff members.
  • MESTI (Malaysian Food Safety and Quality) Certification Support:
  • Assist in maintaining MESTI certification by ensuring all food safety protocols are followed.
  • Support the team in reviewing and updating food safety practices to meet MESTI requirements.
  • Help prepare documents for MESTI audits and inspections.
  • Halal Certification Maintenance:
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of Halal certification by ensuring compliance with Halal standards.
  • Support the team in coordinating with Halal certification bodies and ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
  • Help track and manage Halal-related audits and inspections.
  • Regulatory Documentation and Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing regulatory documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Help compile reports on regulatory compliance activities and audit findings.
  • Ensure that all necessary permits, licenses, and certifications are maintained and updated.
  • Regulatory Affairs Coordination:
  • Provide support to the Regulatory Affairs team in managing communication with regulatory bodies, certifying agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in ensuring all regulatory submissions and filings are completed on time.
  • Help in the coordination of regulatory training sessions for employees.
  • Compliance Training and Awareness:
  • Assist in organizing and delivering training on food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance to relevant departments.
  • Help create training materials related to HACCP, GMP, ISO, MESTI, and Halal standards.
  • Internal Audits and Inspections:
  • Participate in internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing for external regulatory inspections and audits, including assisting in addressing any corrective actions identified.

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be considered for this internship, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Education:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Strong interest in regulatory affairs, food safety, and quality management.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, GMP, MESTI, and Halal regulations is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of regulatory affairs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
