Role Purpose
Overall accountability and responsibility of logistics budget. It will involve proactive tracking of third party charges as well as driving transparency/ validation on internal suppliers (MABES) charges to airlines. Besides, logistics plan/ needs (Air Freight/ Road Freight/ Sea Freight/ WH/ Forwarding/ Customs etc). Supervise & responsible for plan execution/ necessary controls in coordination with SCM and Group Procurement (GP). Focus activities include developing sourcing plan, sourcing, negotiations, contracting, spot buying, performance tracking etc.
Key Accountability
- Accountable & responsible for business partnering with stakeholders in SCM (SCM Manager) and/or GP (Senior Manager, Manager) to support improvement in TCO (total cost of ownership) in logistics spend for MH
- Co-owner alongside SCM and/or GP to monitor adherence of policies / guidelines relating to logistics procurement spend, e.g., thresholds for spot buys / contracting
- Lead the development of supplier performance metrics / SLAs (for MABES and external suppliers) to measure quality of all service rendered. Drive implementation of agreed SLAs
- Ensure establishment of necessary dashboards for reporting and monitoring of supplier performance / SLAs to senior leadership. Manage any supplier performance issues / emerging risks accordingly, including necessary escalations/ recourse/ resolution
- Develop logistics risk mitigation strategy and provide oversight to the team to execute. Risk mitigation will include, but not limited to developing alternate logistics suppliers/ alternate modes/ develop margin of safety in parts movement and provide insights to Asset/ Engine Planning teams etc
- Ensure appropriate material movement dashboards (esp. for critical components) are developed, maintained, and monitored to ensure smooth functioning of the logistics nerve centre function
- Effectively communicate complex information with senior stakeholders to facilitate clear understanding and decision-making
- Ensure proper strategies and initiatives for continuous improvement, particularly with regards to (1) interlocks in ways of working between Asset Mgmt & SCM teams, (2) pertaining to any risks / issues with logistics vendor / contracts; to ensure efficient material movement and minimize business and supply chain operational risks
Qualification & Working Experience
- Degree in Aviation Relevant Industry.
- 17 years+ track record in Logistics, Supply Chain Mgmt.

- Ability to develop/manage stakeholder relationships
- Ability to sense and manage risks or escalate issues
Key Challenges
- Responsible as logistics nerve centre by providing end-to-end coordination support
- Responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of parts to support maintenance operations, partnering with SCM team
- Responsible for continuous improvement in performance of SCM and Asset Mgmt. interlocked functions to ensure smooth flow of material
- Responsible for Spot Buys of logistics services
