Job Description: Primary Homeroom Teacher (Maths, Science, and Art)
Position: Primary Homeroom Teacher
Reporting to: School Principal
Location: Beacon Hill Scholars
Job Overview:
Beacon Hill Scholars is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Homeroom Teacher to deliver engaging lessons in Maths, Science, and Art. As a homeroom teacher, you will play a vital role in fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of students while maintaining a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery:
- Teach Maths, Science, and Art in line with the Cambridge curriculum and school policies.
- Incorporate interdisciplinary approaches where appropriate, ensuring lessons are engaging, creative, and student-centred.
Homeroom Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students and parents, fostering positive communication.
- Provide pastoral care and support, addressing the social and emotional needs of students.
- Conduct daily mindfulness practices, journaling, or other wellbeing activities.
Lesson Planning and Execution:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
- Design scaffolded or differentiated tasks to support low-proficiency students.
- Use technology and hands-on resources to enhance learning outcomes.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a disciplined yet nurturing classroom environment.
- Encourage respect, collaboration, and inclusion among students.
Assessment and Reporting:
- Design, administer, and grade formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Prepare progress reports and conduct parent-teacher conferences.
Extracurricular Involvement:
- Participate in and contribute to school events, projects, and activities.
- Support the school’s goal of fostering community partnerships and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Professional Development:
- Attend training sessions, meetings, and workshops to continuously improve teaching skills.
- Stay updated on curriculum developments and teaching methodologies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, Art, or a related field.
- Teaching certification is preferred.
- Proven experience teaching primary school students in Maths, Science, and/or Art.
- Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing approach to student development.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a holistic and inclusive educational environment.
Working Hours
- 8am-5pm (Monday-Friday)
- Additional school holidays
- Medical & Dental claimable up to RM300 / year
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
