Reports To: Account Executive

Job Summary: The Account Assistant at Brothers Adventure Sdn Bhd supports the financial and administrative functions within the accounting department. This role involves handling basic bookkeeping, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping:

Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.

Update and maintain the general ledger.

Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Process invoices, payments, and receipts.

Assist in monitoring accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.

Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.

  • Financial Reporting:

Assist in preparing financial reports for management review.

Help with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Provide support during financial audits.

  • Data Entry and Record Keeping:

Enter financial data into accounting software.

Maintain organized records and documentation for all financial transactions.

Ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Administrative Support:

Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and managing correspondence.

Support the Account Executive and other team members with ad-hoc financial tasks.

Handle routine inquiries related to accounting and financial matters.

  • Compliance and Standards:

Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Stay updated with industry best practices and accounting standards.

Assist in maintaining internal controls and safeguarding assets.

The Account Assistant may be required to take on additional tasks and projects as directed by the Account Executive.

Qualifications:

Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role.

Skills:

Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Office (especially Excel).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Work Environment:

This position is based at Putra Food Industries' headquarters.

The role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
