Job Summary: The Senior Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems and equipment. They lead and mentor junior mechanics, oversee complex repairs, and ensure the efficient and safe operation of all mechanical systems. The role requires advanced technical skills, extensive experience, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with a high level of expertise. Job Duties: 1. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards. Implement safety protocols and practices. 2. Advanced Diagnostics and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues in machinery, or equipment, including electrical systems, diesel engines and mechanical components. 3. Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and support to junior mechanics. Supervise their work to ensure quality and adherence to safety standards. 4. Maintenance Planning: Lead and carry out preventive maintenance programs. Schedule and coordinate maintenance tasks to minimize downtime. 5. Troubleshooting: Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve issues that are beyond the scope of junior mechanics. 6. Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain complex issues and repair needs. Provide expert recommendations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. 7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and complies with company standards. Job Skills/Qualifications: • Certificate or Diploma in Automotive, Mechanical or other related Engineering with 5 years relevant work experience. • Can work without supervision to performs preventive/predictive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs a variety of mechanical equipment. • An effective team player with good verbal and written communication skills. • Aptitude for hands-on work combined with strong analytical skills. • Must be proficient in understanding/interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics/drawing/prints.
