Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
· Prepare detailed cost estimates for architectural, civil & structural, and electrical & mechanical components of building projects. Sometimes Interior Design works.
· Develop budgets based on project requirements and specifications.
· Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Quantity Takeoff:
· Perform quantity takeoff for materials, labor, and equipment required for architectural, civil & structural, and electrical & mechanical works. Sometimes Interior Design works.
· Quantify and document all aspects of construction projects to facilitate accurate cost estimation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering techniques without compromising quality and performance.
· Recommend alternative materials, construction methods, or design changes to optimize project costs.
Tendering and Procurement:
· Assist in the tendering process by preparing and evaluating tender documents.
· Analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
· Negotiate contracts and procurement agreements to achieve cost-effective solutions.
Cost Control and Monitoring:
· Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and identify deviations from budgets.
· Implement cost control measures to minimize project overruns and ensure profitability.
· Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts to keep stakeholders informed of project financial status.
Variation and Change Management:
· Assess the impact of variations and changes to project scope on cost and schedule.
· Prepare and negotiate variation orders with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure proper compensation for additional work.
· Document changes and maintain accurate records to support claims and disputes resolution.
Risk Management:
· Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may affect project costs.
· Develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize financial impacts and delays.
· Monitor and evaluate risk factors throughout the project lifecycle and implement appropriate measures to address them.
Cost Reporting and Documentation:
· Maintain comprehensive records of project costs, including expenditures, commitments, and forecasts.
· Prepare cost reports and financial summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
· Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements related to cost reporting and documentation.
Collaboration and Communication:
· Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment on cost-related matters.
· Communicate effectively with project teams to clarify cost-related issues and facilitate decision-making.
· Participate in project meetings and presentations to provide cost-related insights and recommendations.
Continuous Improvement:
· Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to cost estimation and management.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of standardized procedures and tools.
Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in quantity surveying and construction cost management
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least Diploma / Degree in Quantity Survey or equivalent.
- At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Self-motivated and independently.
- Highly reliable, confident in handling data.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office application & AutoCAD/Revit/BIM).
- Candidates with interior design or draftsman experience will have added advantage
- Able to prioritise and respond with appropriate level of urgency.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 15 months
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
