Transport Coordinator Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Route Planning and Scheduling
- Plan and organize transportation routes for vehicles (vans) to ensure timely deliveries.
- Optimize routes to reduce fuel consumption, travel time, and costs while meeting delivery deadlines.
- Schedule daily, weekly, or monthly transport needs, ensuring the efficient use of available vehicles.
- Coordinate with drivers to confirm their schedules and ensure they are aware of their routes and timings.
2. Fleet Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and servicing of company vehicles, ensuring that vehicles are in safe and operational condition.
- Keep track of vehicle maintenance schedules, including regular inspections, servicing, and repairs.
- Monitor vehicle fuel consumption and performance to ensure efficiency.
- Maintain a fleet log of vehicle mileage, maintenance, and repairs.
3. Driver Coordination:
- Assign drivers to specific routes and ensure they understand their responsibilities, schedules, and safety regulations.
- Monitor driver performance, ensuring they follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure drivers are properly trained in safe driving practices and compliance with regulations such as Puspakom inspections and road tax.
4. Compliance and Safety:
- Keep up-to-date with legal requirements, such as vehicle licensing, permits, insurance, and driver qualifications.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols for drivers, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe loading/unloading procedures.
- Ensure driver logs are maintained and that drivers comply with working hour regulations.
5. Communication and Reporting:
- Act as the point of contact for drivers, clients, and suppliers, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Provide regular reports to management on transport activities, including delivery performance, vehicle utilization, and cost analysis.
- Address any complaints or issues raised by customers or drivers promptly and professionally.
6. Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Ensure that all transportation-related documents (e.g., delivery receipts, vehicle inspection reports, maintenance records, and insurance documents) are properly filed and updated.
- Keep accurate records of shipping schedules, inventory movements, and vehicle maintenance.
- Prepare reports on vehicle performance and driver productivity.
7. Customer Service:
- Provide customer service support related to transportation, addressing any concerns or issues with deliveries.
- Ensure that customers receive accurate information on delivery times, delays, or changes to orders.
8. Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to handle emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or delivery delays, by coordinating quick resolutions.
- Ensure backup plans are in place for critical deliveries in case of unexpected issues.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,381.53 per month
