KEY TASK
- Develops and implements sales strategies to increase catering events, maximize revenues, and promote a positive facility image.
- Uses the S&C IDB system to create new profiles, block venues, and create Banquet Event Orders
- Prepares daily sales reports, revenue & forecast via S&C in IDB System.
- Monitors room revenue, status, availability, room occupancies, and average room rate via the PMS IDB system.
- Implements various strategies including direct and/ or telephone sales, direct marketing communications, advertising, special event promotions, and community & municipal relations.
- Conducts periodic market research to revise current collateral and for fiscal and operational analysis.
- Manages all initial Banquet operations and banquet service functions in the hotel.
- Builds relationships with hotels, convention contacts, special event groups, wedding organizations, civic organizations, etc. to promote special events.
- Develops and organizes all group events and special events and manages communication between departments.
- Ensures all employees, especially customer contact personnel, fully understand all pertinent details to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Monitors facility activities and makes recommendations to improve customer service and operational efficiencies.
- Works with the Chef to schedule/coordinate personnel requirements for private functions.
- Develops detailed plans for each catered event in conjunction with the hotel’s function committee.
- Hold pre-function meetings with servers to ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Assists in preparing the marketing plan and annual budget to increase the profitability of the banquet operation.
- Conducts after-event evaluations to improve the quality and efficiency of banquet functions.
- Resolves guest complaints and monitors changes to Banquet Event Orders/Group Arrival.
- Review the Daily Event Sheet and Group Forecast Sheet.
- Conducts daily sales calls and arranges site inspection trips to the hotel.
REQUIREMENT
- Graduates with at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality studies, Sales & Marketing, Event Management, or Business Administration.
- Preferred at least 2 years of experience in the same roles within the event company/hotel industry
- At least 4-6 years of working experience in related events companies/ weddings/ tours/ hotels
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and internal ordering systems.
- Familiar with hospitality POS/PMS systems; preferred IDB
- Fluent in English and Bahasa, speaking and writing (Mandarin speaking is a plus point)
