Research Assistant in Biosensors and Wastewater Monitoring
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and talented Research Assistant to join our team for a cutting-edge project focusing on microbial electrochemical sensors for wastewater quality monitoring and treatment process optimization. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful research and develop innovative solutions in the field of biosensors and wastewater management.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Publication Requirements:
- MSc: At least 1 WOS-indexed paper (2021–present).
- PhD: At least 2 WOS-indexed papers (2021–present).
- Expertise: Strong background in microbial electrochemistry and wastewater treatment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary:
- RM 2,200 (Bachelor’s Degree)
- RM 2,600 (Master’s Degree)
- RM 3,300 (PhD Degree)
- 12-month contract.
- Leave: 21 days of annual leave.

Performance Targets:
- Conduct sensor research, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare quarterly project reports.
- Publish at least one Q1-ranked journal article within 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform independent research aligned with the project’s objectives.
- Develop, test, and refine microbial electrochemical sensors.
- Prepare detailed quarterly reports and a publishable research article.
- Assist the supervisor in project-related research and development activities.
About the Project:
The project aims to develop innovative microbial electrochemical sensors for monitoring wastewater quality and optimizing treatment processes. This research will contribute to advancing environmental sustainability and public health.
