Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) & Compliance Officer to oversee safety and compliance standards for our cafeteria operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining health, safety, and compliance programs in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role ensures a safe working environment for staff and customers while maintaining operational compliance. Key Responsibilities: 1. Health & Safety Management: o Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs for cafeteria operations. o Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures. o Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, including OSHA and Food Safety standards. o Conduct safety audits, inspections, and drills to prepare for emergency situations. 2. Compliance Oversight: o Ensure adherence to local and federal laws, food safety regulations, and company policies. o Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for inspections, certifications, and compliance audits. o Coordinate with local authorities for permits, certifications, and inspections. o Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. 3. Training and Awareness: o Organize and deliver safety training programs for cafeteria staff, including food handling, fire safety, and first aid. o Raise awareness about HSE policies and procedures among employees to promote a culture of safety. o Keep staff updated on changes in safety standards and regulations. 4. Incident Management: o Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures. o Maintain incident logs and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities. o Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate future risks. 5. Environmental Responsibility: o Oversee waste management practices to ensure compliance with environmental standards. o Monitor energy and resource usage to promote sustainable and eco-friendly operations. o Implement programs to reduce the environmental impact of cafeteria operations. 6. Collaboration and Reporting: o Work closely with the operations team to ensure HSE requirements are integrated into daily activities. o Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to address safety and compliance matters. o Report HSE performance metrics to management, including safety improvements and compliance status. Qualifications and Requirements: • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. • Minimum 2 years of experience in HSE and compliance roles, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry. • Familiarity with cafeteria or food service operations is an advantage. • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, food safety standards, and environmental compliance. • Excellent communication and training skills to convey safety policies effectively. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for incident investigation and risk assessment. • Certified Occupational Safety and Health Officer (OSHA) or equivalent certification is preferred. • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
