PAPER MACHINE SETTER ENGINEER

• Perform daily shift safety observation – DCS (Distributed Control System) operation wet end to optimise flow loops, chemical additions and overall machine efficiency. • Able to attend to production problems such as equipment malfunctions and defective materials. • Adjust machinery and ensure products meet work orders/customer requirement and quality standards. • Detect defects and verified conformance to work orders and adjust machinery as necessary to correct production problems. • Perform lock out/tag out safety procedures per OSHA requirements. • Regulate machines to control tension and pressure rolls and to synchronize speed of machine components. • Experience in ran-winder – responsible for dry end crew safety, even run paper making machinery and cutting equipment. • Product specifications – measured, spaced, set saw blades, cutters and perforated according to product specifications. • Co-ordinate and led daily activities to achieve production plans in accordance with regulatory, customers and finished product specifications. • Worked closely with control room to optimize wet end flows and chemical loops in the operations. • Set up and operate production in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standards. • Mitigated any occurrence of performance issues within production equipment by leading investigations and root cause analysis procedures. • Perform routine maintenance on equipment by trouble shooting the equipment to meet established production standards and perform preventive maintenance procedure. • Manage and complete projects during monthly and annual shutdowns. • Provide engineering expertise to Operations and Maintenance departments to help resolve various operating problems. • Manage all phases of capital and expense repair projects from inception through equipment installation and start-up. • Lead all phases of the project scopes, cost estimates and schedules, ‘Authorization for Expenditure’ request forms, preparation of drawings for assigned projects by working with consultants, vendors, mill personnel and etc. • Coordinate the different disciplines within the Engineering Department on assigned projects. • Analyze quotations for equipment and installation labour and recommend suppliers. • Initiate purchase requisitions for equipment, labour and materials for assigned capital and repair projects. • Manage the direction of consultants, contractors and maintenance work associated with assigned capital and repair projects. • Provide engineering services to maintenance and operating department personnel as required to resolve maintenance, technical and equipment reliability issues. • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components and applications by designing and conducting research.
