Objectives

Within our Product Family Digital Commerce & Advisor we help BASFs sales teams sell more via digital channels. Within our product family the team “Product Information Systems” (PIM) is building and supporting solutions that enable our customers to discover and explore our products in our several digital channels. The DevOps Engineer is accountable for delivering end-to-end support to the PIM stakeholders to ensure the continuous functioning of the implemented solutions, plays a leading role in supporting and optimizing the PIM processes.

Owns daily operations. These tasks include providing 2nd and 3rd level operational support, resolving technical issues, performing quality assurance checks, and interacting with business stakeholders.

Operates in a global environment, collaborating with international teams to design and implement sustainable digital solutions for our partners. Works closely with Technical / Business Solution Consultants to ensure knowledge transfer for newly deployed solutions to internal/external on-going support teams.

Main Tasks / Scope of Work

• You are part of a dedicated team, which has built itself a platform to efficiently develop, maintain and enhance their delivered applications. Part of your daily job will be to drive the future development and innovation of this platform with regards to user requirement according to modern coding, security and tool standards.
• Taking care of the smooth and secure integration of new services into the overall PIM landscape and existing backend systems will be in your responsibility.
• Understand technical issues with end users, troubleshoot, and further replicate and resolve any technical issues related to operationalized solutions in the team’s product portfolio
• You will work quickly to resolve any high priority or high impact issues related to solutions in the operational landscape
• You will be working in an agile and self-organized way. You not only consider development of new applications but also operations and maintenance as a valuable part of your daily work.
• You will use your strong interpersonal skills to ensure quality internal customer service, and collaborate effectively with a global development team using agile development methodologies and tools.
• Use standardized BASF methods, tools and reports

Job Requirements

Education

• You have a degree or a comparable education in the field of computer and information science.

Work Experience

• Minimum 3+ years
• You have already acquired professional experience in an IT environment.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory)

• Experience in Application Support as Level 2 and/or Level 3 preferable
• Interested in operations and incident management
• Able to support team with the Operational Support strategy, planning, execution and operations management
• Strong analytical skills and experience in troubleshooting
• Confident in SQL
• Strong in communication skills
• Basic knowledge with Java
• Self-starter and able to work independently
• Preferred experience with Cloud technologies (esp. AWS and Azure)
• Good documentation practice
• Experience in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach is preferred

Technical & Professional Knowledge (nice to have)

• Experience in Angular development is good to have
• Experience in working in global / virtual teams/projects

Language Proficiency

• Fluent English skills
