Job Overview:
The Technician (Diagnostics and New Joiner Training) is responsible for performing diagnostic services on vehicles, identifying issues related to electrical and mechanical systems, and ensuring repairs are done efficiently. Additionally, the technician will serve as a mentor and guide for new joiners, providing hands-on training, introducing them to tools and procedures, and ensuring they adapt well to the company’s work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vehicle Diagnostics:
o Perform accurate diagnostics on vehicle systems, including electrical, engine,
transmission, and other mechanical components.
o Utilize diagnostic tools (scantools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.) to identify and troubleshoot issues.
o Keep up to date with the latest diagnostic technologies and tools.
o Provide detailed reports on findings and recommended repairs.
2. Repair and Maintenance:
o Carry out repairs and maintenance on vehicles as per diagnostic results.
o Ensure all repairs meet company and industry standards.
o Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and prompt service delivery.
3. New Joiner Training:
o Guide new employees through the onboarding process, introducing them to
company policies, procedures, and tools.
o Provide hands-on training to new technicians, focusing on diagnostic procedures, repair protocols, and safety practices.
o Monitor the progress of new joiners, offering feedback and ensuring they gain proficiency in diagnostic and repair tasks.
o Act as a point of contact for any technical or procedural questions new joiners might have.
4. Tool and Equipment Management:
o Ensure proper use and maintenance of diagnostic tools.
o Keep an inventory of tools and ensure new joiners are familiar with them.
o Report any issues with tools and equipment for timely repairs or replacement.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of all diagnostic tests, repairs, and services performed.
o Document the progress and performance of new joiners for review with supervisors.
o Provide feedback on any gaps or opportunities in training programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Diploma or certificate in Automotive Technology or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in vehicle diagnostics and repairs, with at least 1 year of experience in a mentoring or training role.
- Technical Skills:
o Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and software (e.g., OBD scanners, scantools).
o Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
o Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Training Skills:
o Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
o Patient and approachable, with a knack for teaching and mentoring.
- Soft Skills:
o Team player with excellent problem-solving abilities.
o Detail-oriented and organized.
o Ability to adapt to new technologies and continuous learning.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
