Job Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Oversee and manage full-spectrum accounting operations, including invoicing, updating receipts, processing supplier invoices, payments, journal entries, inter-company charges, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end closings, covering accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and journal postings.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for group reporting purposes.
- Perform internet banking transactions and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet schedules, including fixed asset registers and supplier statements.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including profit and loss (P&L) statements, cash flow analysis, and variance reports for management review.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct scenario analysis and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop financial dashboards and key performance metrics for management reporting.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
Client Account Management
- Assist in managing client accounts, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and payments.
- Monitor client account performance, including aging reports and follow-ups on outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with client-facing teams to resolve account-related inquiries and ensure excellent client service.
Taxation and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including SST and corporate tax filings.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities to ensure timely submissions and adherence to regulations.
- Prepare and maintain tax schedules to support compliance efforts.
Process Improvement and Collaboration
- Drive continuous improvement in financial and administrative processes for greater efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance communication and streamline workflows.
- Support the implementation and integration of new financial systems and tools.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with expertise in consolidation, financial planning, and client account management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Accounting Software (e.g., Xero, AutoCount).
- Bonus: Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and corporate tax filings.
- Fluency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia to liaise effectively with suppliers and clients.
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Strong time management and multitasking capabilities.
- High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in reporting and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
