Job Description

The Senior Legal Advisor will assist the Senior Vice President in implementing legal matters for Khazanah, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. The role involves managing legal risk, providing quality advice to achieve objectives, and executing contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Legal strategic plan for Khazanah to ensure regulatory compliance and achievement of objectives.
  • Monitor and review contractual obligations to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Implementation and Effectiveness:

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage legal aspects of commercial agreements, providing ongoing post-closing support to internal clients.
  • Provide proactive legal support to major entities, including counsel, advice, and interpretation on relevant issues.
  • Develop and execute training programs on legal topics for employees and officers.

Performance and Management:

  • Develop templates for use by all divisions, including Non-disclosure Agreements and Terms of Engagement.
  • Provide legal analyses and risk assessments, participating in business decision-making processes.
  • Review legal processes and procedures to ensure relevancy to current business needs.

Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Provide strategic recommendations on legal matters to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties to support corporate operations.

Requirements:

  • 7-9 years of experience as a Legal Advisor in reputable institutions or law firms.
  • Preferred industry exposure in Financial Services.
  • Preferred functional exposure in Corporate Law, Contract Law, Intellectual Property, and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and under tight deadlines.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
