Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct Health Care
- Provides care to the students and staff who need emergency care due to injury or who present with an acute illness.
- Assists with the development of school emergency response plan for emergencies and disasters.
- Monitors and checks the adherence to health standard when providing food to students/staff.
- Verifies that school policies and procedures meet the legal and regulatory statutes and ethical standards of nursing practice.
- Addresses potential health problems and develop, implement plans, and evaluate response to health interventions.
- Monitors immunizations and reports communicable diseases as required by law.
- Review immunization records for compliance to state laws and school policies.
- Assesses the physical environment of the school to improve health and safety.
- Prepares and check the first aid kits for each building in the school.
Health Awareness.
- Provides training to the staff to respond appropriately emergencies.
- Plan and implement programs and activities that promote health awareness.
- Provides health information to assist students and families in making health-related decisions.
- Plans, implements, and supervises school health screening programs in accordance with state requirements and recommendations.
- Prepares and present reports about the health status, conditions, and achievements’.
Education and /or Work Experience Requirements:
- Diploma/Bachelor degree in nursing.
- At least two years’ experience in nursing.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
- Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
