OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
The objective of the role is to position Teach For Malaysia as the recognised thought leader in education and a key partner in the education ecosystem.
MISSION FOR THE ROLE
The mission of this role is to build and sustain a strong brand for Teach For Malaysia through marketing and communication strategies and activities which will ultimately drive long-term growth, sustainability and impact for the organisation in the education system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Visual Design and Creative Development (40%)
- Develop compelling visual designs and creative assets for digital platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and impact reports.
- Conceptualise and produce designs that align with the brand’s identity and storytelling goals.
- Collaborate with external partners and creative vendors to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Support the team in creating infographics, visual content for events, and campaign materials to amplify Teach For Malaysia’s message.
- Provide guidance and support to other teams on brand and design best practices.
- Ensure all content and designs comply with Teach For Malaysia’s brand standards and guidelines.
Content development (Bahasa Malaysia) (20%)
- Create engaging and high-quality BM content for social media, press releases, website copy, campaign materials, and other communication channels.
- Translate English content into BM while maintaining accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Act as the communication liaison for marketing, aligning and managing content requests from internal teams.
- Collect and curate impactful stories from students and Programme Participants (e.g., Fellows, Program Duta Guru participants) to emotionally engage audiences.
3. Digital Campaign Support and Brand Management (20%)
- Work with the Marketing Manager to plan and implement digital campaigns, ensuring creative alignment with objectives.
- Adapt content and visuals to optimise campaign effectiveness across multiple platforms.
- Ensure brand voice consistency across all platforms and support team members in adhering to brand guidelines.
- Support content performance tracking and analyse results to inform and improve strategies.
KEY MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Build the breadth and depth of the Teach For Malaysia brand across different platforms including traditional media, social media and digital marketing to reach key audiences (e.g. Potential applicants for the Fellowship, donors, public & private stakeholders, educators) - all contributing towards long-term brand sustainability.
- Convert awareness into understanding and engagement through content marketing strategies, campaigns, to produce concrete measurable outcomes (e.g. increased number of applicants to the Fellowship, increased donations).
- Actively build & sustain relationships with key media partners, brand ambassadors, other TFM champions and creative vendors.
- Be the brand custodian by working closely with other teams to define and ensure the consistency of the brand identity.

- Exceptional writing skills in Bahasa Malaysia with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Writing skills in English or other local languages is a plus.
- Curiosity and ability to translate his/her passion for social impact into compelling written and visual content.
- Ability to adapt writing style to various platforms and audiences, considering cultural nuances.
- Strong desire to learn new things and grow professionally
Role-Specific Competencies
- Graphic design skills preferred
- Creative and enjoys exploring various ideation for campaign and marketing initiatives
- Experience in communications (e.g. marketing, advertising, digital media) preferred, but not a requirement
Years of experience & qualification
- Relevant experience in marketing, branding and/or communications is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in a field related to communications, marketing or graphic design. A non-related degree can be considered if there is relevant experience and/or a portfolio of relevant skills

Language & Technical Proficiency
- Excellent proficiency in Adobe illustrator
- Willing and able to readily adopt and utilise any TFM database or technological platform / application (i.e. Google Suites, Confluence, Salesforce, Zoom etc.)
