Job Summary:

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing daily operations within the logistics department. This role ensures efficient and cost-effective management of the supply chain, including the storage, transportation, and delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Monitor and optimize workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and motivate a team of logistics staff, including warehouse personnel and drivers.
  • Schedule shifts, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Inventory and Stock Control:
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock availability.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Resolve any discrepancies in inventory reports promptly.
  • Vendor and Partner Coordination:
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure seamless transportation and delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with logistics service providers.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations, such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and order accuracy.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management on operational performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement:
  • Address operational challenges, such as delays, shortages, or equipment issues, with practical and effective solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance logistics processes through automation or new technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CILT) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum [3-5] years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS).
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and warehousing processes.
  • Key Competencies:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:
