Indirect Buyer

Purpose

The Indirect Buyer will support manufacturing operations in Malaysia by managing the procurement of indirect materials and services critical to plant operations. This role focuses on sourcing and onboarding suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services such as MRO supplies, capital equipment, and industrial gases. The Indirect Buyer will collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet operational requirements while driving cost savings, improving payment terms, and ensuring supplier reliability.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts, and terms to secure best pricing and terms for goods and services required by the organization
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and key suppliers, facilitating regular cadence of governance
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs, provide guidance and support to optimize decisions and adhere to policies
• Monitor supplier performance, track key performance indicators, and implement corrective actions as needed
• Review indirect spend transactions, researching for compliance with company processes. Produce reporting and summaries of findings of non-compliance.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, supplier consolidation initiatives, and drive implementation of approved initiatives.
• Conduct market research and data analysis as necessary to facilitate sourcing events

Basic Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years experience in a procurement or buying role
• Bachelors Degree
• Experience working in SAP or a similar ERP system, skills with MS Office
• Highly organized, strong negotiation skills, great communicator
