Job Purpose
The physiotherapist is responsible for providing high quality physiotherapy treatment & management to all patients irrespective of race, colour and beliefs. The Physiotherapist shall provide evidence-based treatment through the integrated use of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and electrophysical therapy to optimize the patients’ functional ability & potential.
Duties and Responsibilities
General Patient Management
- Assessment, planning, treatment and education for all patients
- Clear and accurate documentation of all assessment, planning, treatment and progress in the physiotherapy notes.
- To assess & supply appropriate rehabilitation items/equipments to the patients if required
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals and team members regarding patient management via verbal mode and documentation
- To pass over cases to the next team of physiotherapists at the end of every shift
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient statistics
- To perform scheduled on-call and relief duties as instructed
- Carry out treatment according to the standards of physiotherapy practice and code of ethics.
Outpatient
- Responsible for the management of outpatients
- To inform the clerk/counter staff of appropriate patient charges after treatment has been delivered
- To conduct or carry out group exercises when required
Inpatient
- Responsible for the management of in-patients
- To key-in treatment charges accordingly after treatment has been delivered
- Daily recording in the ‘In-patient Record File’
- Daily recording of doctors’ revenue for in-patient physio referrals.
Leadership & Management
- Comply with departmental policies and procedures
- Participate in departmental meetings and act as secretary when required
- Participate in all departmental projects
- Participate in hospital quality projects.
Safe Practice & Environment
- Teach and maintain safe patient handling to carers and staff.
- Be aware of safety/emergency procedures within the department and hospital.
- To write and report to the Rehabilitation Manager if any incident occurs to patients/carers/staff.
- Safe use of Physiotherapy equipments, while adhering to good standards of practice for equipment handling.
Qualifications
- Qualifications include:
- Professional Education: Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- Specialized knowledge & Skills :
-Clinical experience, knowledge & skills in basic Physiotherapy, including acute care.
- Abilities : Good communication skills (written & oral), ability to teach & guide the technicians & aides. Ability to inspire colleagues to excel.
- Personal characteristics : Diligent, trustworthy, responsible, reliable & good work ethics.
- Working Experience : No working experience required but, fresh graduates must be a team player, possess a passion & sincere desire to learn & expand their knowledge.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
