Telephone Operator
Summary:
One is responsible to operate the hotel telephone switchboard and answer all calls promptly.
He/she has to work closely with all departments on telephone related matter.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· To answer all incoming and house calls promptly and courteously.
· To take down messages for guests and transmit promptly.
· To provide wake-up call service to guests.
· To answer guests queries and provide information.
· To Ensure that the PMS/Raw Data System are running smoothly.
· To keep the operator’s room clean and tidy at all times.
· To check daily on every shift, the PABX switchboard room is operating smoothly.
· Must be familiar with hotel’s emergency procedures and policies in order to play an active role in the event of an emergency.
· Participates in any scheduled training and development program that may improve personal or departmental standards.
· Perform other duties as assigned job-related tasks as assigned by the Duty Manager and/or Management.
· He/she employed by Front Office Department and as such he/she may be assigned to any area that the management deems suitable and necessary.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be thoroughly conversant with the Opera computer systems.
· Must be thoroughly conversant with the switchboard.
· Must have full knowledge of emergencies procedures, e.g., calling of Doctor, Ambulance, Police and Fire Department.
· Must be discreet with information received from callers. All information must be kept strictly confidential.
· Must have full knowledge of all Hotel’s policies and procedures.
· Must be familiar with the local areas.
· Must have knowledge of all room types, layout and amenities.
· Must have full knowledge of all facilities in the hotel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From RM1,800.00 per month
