Position Summary:
The Quality Control Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring that products meet the company’s quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This position involves inspecting products, recording quality metrics, and supporting the implementation of quality control procedures to enhance overall production efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Perform tests to verify product dimensions, performance, and functionality.
- Document and report any deviations from quality standards.
- Compliance Monitoring:
- Ensure that all products meet company, customer, and regulatory quality specifications.
- Support adherence to ISO or other relevant quality standards.
- Participate in audits and quality system reviews.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of quality inspections and test results.
- Assist in preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Track non-conformance issues and document corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in production and quality control processes.
- Work with the Quality Control Manager to implement process enhancements.
- Support the development of quality checklists and protocols.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality concerns.
- Assist in training production staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the Quality Control Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a quality control or manufacturing role is advantageous.
- Certifications: Knowledge of Six Sigma, ISO standards, or other quality methodologies is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using quality measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Familiarity with quality control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Working Conditions:
- Work may involve standing for extended periods and operating in a manufacturing environment.
- Occasional exposure to noise, dust, or other industrial elements.
