Duties & Responsibilities

The intern will work with Marriott’s Market Vice President and Malaysia Country team and based in the Kuala Lumpur office. The intern will assist in projects, and supporting initiatives related to office and hotel operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates travel and hotel accommodation arrangements
  • Prepares and processes expense reports.
  • Coordinate and collate data / information with different teams
  • Create presentation decks using PowerPoint
  • Provide support on new projects
  • Manage and respond to e-mails in an effective, organized and professional way
  • Assist the team in facilitating appointments, organize meeting schedule and prepare agenda
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and follow company policies and procedures
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Display strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in handling data
  • Be initiative, proactive, creative and have the ability to “think outside the box”
  • Be responsible, well-organized and systematic in dealing with assignments
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change and have awareness on different cultures in the region
  • Have a good command of English – spoken and written
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills - able to work in a team
  • Tech savvy - strong proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

QUALIFICATION STANDARD

Education:

Undergraduate in Hospitality Management or Business administration preferred

Requirements

Malaysia, Malaysia Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass

Eligible for undergraduate in a Malaysia registered university program

Prepared to commit to a six months’ internship

Grooming:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Marriott standards.
