Job Purpose

  • Act as point of contact for the Management-team and employees in the business unit on all people matters.
  • To anticipate issue and problems, and guide the business in responding to these issues or problems as and when required to do so in tandem with HC strategy, policies and practices.
  • Responsible for industrial relations management in business unit which is aimed at achieving the business objectives and goals and to promote the need for industrial harmony.

What will you be doing?

Business Partnering

  • Provide professional advice and recommendation to Function/Department whenever needed.
  • Working closely with Human Capital Centre of Excellence (COE) and relevant stakeholders in managing overall aspects of human resources functions which include recruitment, performance management, talent management, training & development, compensation & benefits, IR/ER etc
  • To ensure that services provided to business partners are consistent with overall human resource strategies, objectives, policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Implementation and deployment of all HC initiatives, strategies, activities and projects

Industrial Relation (IR)

  • Maintain and strengthen harmonious relationship with branch unions, central unions and relevant government authorities.
  • Preserve and improve union-management climate by identifying, addressing and resolving IR issues successfully to prevent any disruption to the Company’s operations and business objectives
  • Ensure that fair labor practices are performed by unions and management.
  • Provide guidance to management to promote consistency with compliance of local labor law and Collective Agreements (CA)
  • Ensure that IR issues are resolved in a manner which is both within the Company’s mandate and fair to the employee through effective negotiations and consensus building.
  • Manage all disciplinary & grievances procedures
  • Prepare correspondence pertaining to disciplinary actions and grievance handling.

What you bring?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in similar capacity and at least 3 years in a business partner capacity for a fast-paced organization
  • Required language: English, Bahasa Malaysia
  • Possess knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Power point.
  • Good interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills.
  • Assertive, Proactive with excellence influencing skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
