AL Maritime is a business unit within GM&T (Global Markets & Technologies). The activity is articulated around four main businesses: Global Helium, Global Rare Gases, Offshore Energies and Maritime Cryogenic Supply. It is a very international environment, managing multiple locations worldwide.

As part of AL Maritime, Cryogenic Tank Services (CTS) is a Malaysian entity which was acquired in 2015. CTS specializes in cryogenic tank and equipment rental for the offshore and maritime industries as well as in cryogenic transport of molecules, and provides a full range of repair and testing services.

The Procurement Manager - Sourcing & Freight ensures strong supplier and freight forwarder relations, sourcing molecules and freight for efficient gas supply to Air Liquide Maritime Cryo Supply customers. Key responsibilities include securing competitive rates and maintaining effective delivery channels to support growth objectives.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Operations:

  • Maintain purchasing price listings and explore alternative transport routes for optimal customer delivery, collaborating with Logistics and Sales teams for competitive lead times.
  • Foster day-to-day relationships with molecule and freight suppliers, managing forecasts and addressing non-conformities, while devising improvement plans.
  • Conduct regular audits to uphold Supplier Qualification androad safety standards.
  • Manage spot molecule procurement and lead crisis interventions for product availability, contributing to financial performance through cost control and efficiency generation.


Tactics and Strategy:

  • Collaborate closely with Air Liquide Procurement teams for sourcing strategies, consolidating Asia Pacific customer needs and logistics requirements.
  • Identify, qualify, and select new suppliers in collaboration with Air Liquide procurement teams.
  • Contribute to RFQs and secure agreements with molecule and freight forwarding partners, deploying sourcing plans for MCS APAC.
  • Lead preparations and participation in Maritime Committee meetings, while overseeing IMS Road Safety for MCS APAC.
  • Monitor global transport and sourcing trends for proactive adjustments and propose necessary actions.


Teamwork:

  • Work closely with Air Liquide Maritime, Asia Pacific and d Global procurement teams to align on strategic procurement initiatives.


Are you a MATCH?

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in supply chain operations, preferably with Cryogenic liquid and gas products will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in ocean freight market dynamics and international supply chain management.
  • Expertise in cost analysis, utilizing tools such as Google Sheets pivot and Power BI.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is beneficial (for interactions with Chinese molecule suppliers).
  • Demonstrated abilities in supplier negotiation, contract management.
  • Familiarity with gas-related technical operations and safety protocols will be a plus.
