Job Summary

The Lead, Credit Control & Debt Management is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of credit control and debt recovery activities within the organisation. This role will ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables and minimise bad debt losses.

Job Responsibilities

  • Credit Control Strategy: Develop and implement effective credit control strategies to minimise bad debt and maximise cash flow.
  • Debt Recovery: Oversee the debt recovery process, including collections, litigation, and write-offs.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of credit controllers to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Policy Development: Develop and maintain credit control policies and procedures.
  • Reporting: Prepare and analyse regular reports on credit control performance and debt recovery activities.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments.
  • Technology Utilisation: Leverage technology to improve credit control efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in credit control and debt management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experienced with credit scoring models and collection software.
  • Possesses strong understanding of credit risk assessment and collection strategies.
  • Knowledgeable in debt recovery laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage consumer's attitude towards debt and payment obligations.
