The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for resolving manufacturing and assembly problems, developing new processes, and also supporting existing processes and techniques for a wide range of products manufactured by AMETEK Hayden Kerk Pittman. The incumbent is also utilized when meeting customer deliveries where the resolution of technical problems is a controlling factor. The Manufacturing Engineer is also involved in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of electrical and electromechanical products and systems. The Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering support for manufacturing planning, new process development, and new product design. Also, they will assist on the shop floor with troubleshooting product and processing problems.

What Will You Do

  • Read and interpret drawings.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements.
  • Lead in the determination of root cause.
  • Generate drawings, tool orders, and work instructions as needed to support manufacturing.
  • Specify tooling and process parameters for the manufacture of products.
  • Design fixtures, tools, and gauges and have them built.
  • Occasional use of hand and power tools.
  • Occasional travel to customer or vendor facilities or trade shows.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

We Are Looking For

  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Electronic/electrical engineering background
  • Experience in leading NPI projects, preferably in motor/electro-mechanical component assembly processes
  • Experience in product transfer, workstation setup, BOM in ERP system
  • Added advantages: programming, instrumentation, electric/motor testing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Proficient in GD&T (geometric dimension and tolerance).
  • Troubleshooting experience/ability.
  • Ability to use standard shop floor inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and indicator gauges. CAD drafting skills.
  • Experience with standard machining processes such as milling, turning and grinding.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Plastic injection molding experience helpful. Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or technical field required and/or equivalent years of experience.
